Locronan
Locronan is named after Ronan, an Irish saint who evangelized the Bretons during the 5th century. Situated on a high hilltop, it offers a magnificent view of the bay of Douarnenez and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. Every July it is the site of the troménie, a Christianized druidic ceremony which attracts thousands of pilgrims who come to pay tribute to Saint Ronan.

During the 16th century, the town became very prosperous thanks to the linen trade. The quaint little town has remained virtually unchanged since that time. It is today home to many a local craftsman and merchants.
